Caroline Carlson

I love talking to readers! When I am not busy writing, I am happy to visit schools, libraries, conferences, and festivals; lead writing workshops; or chat over Skype or Google+ with student groups who have read my books. You can learn more about my school presentations, writing workshops, fees, and policies here. If you are interested in arranging an in-person or virtual author visit, please contact me at

Upcoming Virtual Events

March 16: In conversation with author Nick Courage for the release of Snow Struck, hosted by Penguin Bookshop via Zoom at 7 p.m. Register here to receive the Zoom event link.

Some Notes about In-Person Events

Due to the continued spread of COVID-19 and the nature of my events, I’m unfortunately not able to give presentations in person until vaccines are available to all groups, including young children. When I do resume in-person events, I’ll ask that recommended public health measures be taken at each venue to ensure that we can all stay healthy while we chat about books together. I look forward to visiting with young readers again as soon as it’s safe to do so!

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:

I support efforts in the community of children’s books⏤and in the world beyond⏤to ensure that all people are treated with dignity and respect. Please understand that I am not available for events sponsored by institutions that discriminate against marginalized or underrepresented people or communities.
